Dot To Dot Festival is for the music savvy youths, who like the party, love the music, but loathe the mud a festival in a field would usually bring. Spreading itself over three of the most musically-competent cities in the UK, during the last days of March, each year their line up always has a lot more relevance to new and upcoming music than those silly ‘Sound Of 2K11’ lists ever will. Last year saw it grow to a three day event, with headliners Mystery Jets and Ellie Goulding, and this year see’s it grow with an even stronger line up. Today avant-garde pop princes Hurts were announced as the headliners and, hailing from Manchester, it was only fair they get to play the biggest bash their lovable city has to offer.
Also announced were The Naked & Famous, whose lead singer Nick Brown foresees his band to be ‘bigger than Bono’, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, who dresses up as a Brontosaurus for his stage shows, Ed Sheeran, who’s big break came whilst busking with Example rapping about Nando’s, along with Mona, The Phoenix Foundation and for the Manchester leg only – Darwin Deez.
The festival dates are:- Bristol: Saturday 28th May, Nottingham: Sunday 29th & Manchester: Monday 30th. Tickets are now on sale for only £25 (or £20 if Manchester would be your city of choice) and you can find all the information on how to buy them at dottodotfestival.co.uk
