BFW: Bugsy Pants

When I think of underwear and Swimwear collection, I always think of them as an afterthought, quick basic shapes, with the focus and attention of random patterns. Bugsy Pant, changed my belief completely.

Opening with a blonde bombshell leisurely fanning herself with black feather on a deckchair, she teased the audience with a pin up look emphasised by Bugsy Pants high waisted striped bikini set. Once she placed herself back onto her deckchair admiring the audience the show really began.

With the title, ‘Beside the Seaside,’ it was reminiscent of English seaside holidays. Fabrics of pink gingham and yellow polka dots were worked into finely cut swimming costumes. Floral one shouldered bathing suit, complete with frills brought the audience to clapping, whilst a collection of swimming entire with traditional ‘fish and chip shop paper’ print epitomised the English seaside.

The collection closed with none other than the newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton, who in a matching Union Jack bikini and swim shorts took to the stage. A playful ending which summed up Bugsy Pants’ ethos of fun, British design.
