Submotion Orchestra

Having never heard of them before I was quite surprised at just how pumped up the packed out Proud Camden crowd were whilst waiting for Submotion Orchestra to come on stage.

After a long wait between bands they finally came on and the crowd were eager to get right to the front of stage and show off their dance moves.

As I saw what seemed to be a group of extremely different looking guys playing a mix of instruments I was a little unsure, however they definitely all had one thing in common and that was their excitement to be up on the stage in front of so many eager fans. They kicked off with a four minute reggae/dub sounding instrumental which got me feeling very good about what else was going to follow.

As singer Ruby walked onstage there were screams of excitement from everyone in the crowd…and they werent to be disappointed. Each song seemed to be led by a different instrument with the ambient vocals similar to those of “Glasser” confidently topping off this amazing live performance.

The momentum continued throughout the entire set and you could really see just how passionate each member was to perfect their part as well as tie in and support their fellow band mates to create the amazing sounds they all love so much.

A little over 45 minutes later the very sweaty but also very satisfied fans gave a huge round of applause and this amazing live performance had come to an end.

I left Proud very excited about witnessing the start of what I’m sure is going to be a huge year ahead for this band and can’t wait to see just how far they go.
