CC Kuo

Spindle caught up with Central St Martin’s Graduate CC Kuo, who is soon to debut a collection…

How are you feeling to be showing at London Fashion Week?

I am very excited to be able to showcase again in ‘Felicities Presents’ at Vauxhall Fashion Scout at London Fashion Week.

What do think gives London Fashion Week its edge on the other fashion capitals?

London designers always can push the boundary to create the pieces, everything in London just very unique and original. That’s why London Fashion is different from other capitals.

What is the name/inspiration behind your collection?

‘The Black Stripe’

This collection was inspired by a black stripe dress and vintage jewellery from CC’s mother’s wardrobe, which reminds CC of the 60s fashion icon Twiggy.

Stripes are demonstrated on each garment in various ways, either by the print or the arrangements of the fabric to create the visual satisfaction. This transforms on the garments into a quirky collection.

The fabrication of small stripes into bigger blocks with different colors remodels the styles completely. Complex details such as transparent sleeves or in small parts of areas, indicates the creativity and thoughts from the designer. From this collection, CC has reflected that her use of digital print and fashion innovation grows from strength to strength throughout the collection.

Describe the key features of your collection?

Modern Mini dresses contrasted with Long chiffon dresses

Who do you consider to be your fashion pioneer?

Alexander McQueen.

Who would you most like to see in your creations?

Anyone who likes my design.

Finally Spindle Magazine is all about emerging talent, what piece of advice would you give to the future design talent out there?

Love what you do.
