Insider at Fashion Week: Day 4

And I have really had enough. I’m tired, crabby and there is a really weird vibe among bloggers, freelancers and Mags at the moment and it’s actually making LFW non-enjoyable. If you are a blogger you are seen as third class, freelancer, a distant second and of course, if you are from a printed magazine, you’re gold dust. Just when I thought it was starting to change due to the online world, it’s done a 180 on me.

I thought I would make the effort today for one designer who I have seen many times. Heading backstage, I had a quick chat with Jasper Garvida who informed me that butterflies were in his tummy and on high alert. Of course by the time the show would have started, they would be gone just like any doubt in people’s minds. Jasper Garvida’s show was a mixture of Feminine chic with hard core goddess. With inspirations coming from metal work and the womanly shape, Jasper proved to us that he can do a classic look as well push the boat out to a more challenging island. I love seeing Jasper try something a bit different and with his girlie silhouettes highlighted by Metal panels and curves, his S/S collection has enough Trendy looks to be appreciated but had a nice smooth edge also. I am definitely looking forward to his new season in February.

One little piece of enjoyment I had was when the Socialite wanna strolled into Jaspers’ show(with Slaves in toe) and had to sit 2nd row. I did try not to smile to loudly but it was fun to hear the irritation at their predicament. Ha bloody ha.
