LFW: Sibling

Sibling was one of the best ways yesterday of starting the Menswear day at London Fashion Week for myself and our fellow Arts writer Lana McDonaugh.  Since launching in 2008, the innovative knitwear brand has always made me jump with excitement that I cannot begin to tell you and this season is no different.

Inspired by the fun fair, the candyfloss, the dodgems and the tattooed carnival folk who operate the ‘waltzer’, Sibling displayed the softest knits with even slicker graphics. A personal favourite was what can only be called the ‘hotdog’ print. With a dachshund embroidered between two sides of a breaded bun.  This appeared on garments from argyle sleeved cardigans to Americana bombers and placed next two what will sure to be on my back next season, the tattooed jersey sweaters.

The tattooed sweaters, sweats, jogging bottoms, and the trademark Mohican haired balaclava were all woven with a print designed by the artist Yuko Kudo. In a palette of grey and blue you could be head to toe in tattoos, with no needles required! This isn’t the first time Sibling has collaborated with artists with last season seeing Pure Evil’s work ‘Panda Rock’ transferred onto sequined jumpers and fox fur eared masks.

So if you’re a fan of the fair, a tattoo addict or purely a Knitwear aficionado, there is no excuse why you shouldn’t love Siblings latest collection for Spring/Summer 2012.
