The field is in the ground of a family home off the Norfolk Coast; the 10,000 people are us; and the musical highs are those of Electronic Underground fused together with micro tents, psychedelic villages, roller discos, mad hatters tea parties and the dirtiest bass lines you will ever hear coming out of an ice cream van. Not to mention 4 days of limitless inhibition shredding that will no doubt leave you wanting to stay with your newfound family- a 10,000 strong family.
Any mortal who has visited Glastonbury in the last few years will have experienced the music on a model sized scale by way of the Glade tent; Glade Festival is the work of these guys with a little helping hand from new friends, Secret Productions, the very folk that bring us the quite spectacular Secret Garden Party.
No advertisements in sight, no enforcements of corporate brands, beers, images and logos down our fragile throats, just pure, unadulterated dance bliss with like-minded peeps. Chill out areas, acres of open air dance floors in the woods AND environmentally friendly compost portaloos.
Not content with new portaloos to entice us, Glade 2012 brings us headline sets from Stephan Bodzin. German born Bodzin has the ability to alter your state of consciousness with techno beats that could be a soundtrack to a lifetime, with further sets from Confused Recordings Olivier Hunteman, Sven Vath, Pretty lights and the Correspondents to name a few, Glade 2012 will be the best underground festival this year. It could be the best festival full stop – not that we would want them to get commercial.
