Preview: Purity Ring

White Heat Club are building quite the name for themselves as one of the best clubs nights around for booking the most exciting talent from around the world. They booked Grimes way back in January, which I’m sure was amazing – not that I would know. I was completely oblivious due to a particularly intense game of Monopoly I was playing.

However, I’m not going to be missing out this time around. Descending on Madame Jojo’s this week are Grimes’ label mates (4AD) and ‘future-pop’ cohorts, Purity Ring. The duo comprised of Corrin Rodick and Megan James, from Halifax, Canada sound like a super sexy cocktail of RnB, Pop and Electronica and they’ve been hotly tipped for ‘big things’ this year – whatever that means. Expect lots of synths, dancing, cheap beer and hipsters. Support comes from Greenwood Sharps and Fear of Men.  If you can’t get tickets for the bands, then the DJs start from 11 till late.
