Review: Judith Holmes Drewy Sculpture

For this retrospective by Le Blanc Fine Art, featuring works from 1950-2011, the sublime neo-classical private members club of Home House made for a perfect setting to showcase the beautiful bronze sculptures of Judith Holmes Drewy.

In particular the lush and trendy topiary of the garden was an ideal backdrop to portray these dreamy life-size figures of children playing, young ladies pensive and all manner of activity occurring dotted around the scenery. So refined and realistic where the depictions of characters yet the mise en scene of the arrangement was so naturalistic as to be surreal, especially amongst the setting sun and fairy lights; it gave it a sprinkling of whimsy, wonder and magic, with further enchantment lent by the Pimms.
