Brighton Comedy Festival Preview
The annual Brighton Comedy Festival is back and after celebrating its 2011 10th anniversary with a bang, 2012’s line up looks to exceed even this. The festival runs from the 5th-20th of October in many of Brighton’s most notable venues – the Dome included, of course.
The festival will play host to some of British comedy’s biggest names: alongside Alan Carr hosting on the opening night, attendees will also have the opportunity to LOL at some Jo Brand, Dara O’Briain, Jack Dee and Russell Kane antics amongst others, over what promises to be a side-splitting fortnight.
Dave’s Brighton Comedy Festival have also recently announced the ‘Squawker Heats’, in which budding new comedians will battle it out for a cash prize and the opportunity to perform on the festival’s closing night, the ‘Best of the Fest’ show. Entrants will be judged by festival organisers and industry professionals, so must be on form. Tickets for the heats are £5-£6.50, with the final being £10-£12.
Jenny Eclair, Ross Noble, Seann Walsh and many, many more also add to this year’s stellar line up, guaranteeing fifteen days of funny. Tickets for the festival overall range from £8-£25 – more than decent prices considering the calibre of the acts – so comedy lovers and those just looking for a laugh head down to Brighton and try to catch the last of this Indian summer while your there!
