Get ready to wear this season’s purple lip trend.
1. Sweet Pea & Fay Cordelia & Heliotrope Lip Joule // 2. A La Carte Rose Elixer // 3. Mac Groundwork Paint Pot // 4. Mac Shale Eyeshadow // 5. Illamasqua Motto Brow Cake // 6. Mac Face & Body Foundation // 7. Mac Pro Sculpting Powder Sculpt // 8. Dr. Lipp Lip Balm
Clean & Prep Skin
Cleanse the skin with Dermalogica Ultra Calming Cleanser and follow this with A La Carte Rose Elixer (2) oil to hydtrate and nourish. Hydrate the skin with Dermalogica Active Moist Moisturizer and Smashbox Face Primer. Add a dab of Dr. Lipp Lip Balm (8) – allowing this to sink in while the rest of the makeup gets applied.
Softly define Eyes
Create a natural eye makeup using Mac Groundwork Paint Pot (3) all over the lid. Wash a little Mac Shale eyeshadow (4) over the top, being sure to blend and diffuse the colour into the outer eyelid and crease using a fluffy brush. Add a little bit of definition around the lash line with a soft brown khol pencil like Mac Coffee and finish the eyes with a sweep of black mascara.
Fill in Brows
Fill in your brows using a soft matte brow powder such as Illamasqua Motto (5) Be sure to exaggerate the arch of the brow but keep the rest of the shape soft as this is a fresh look. No brow power here – we’re focusing on the lips!
Paint your Face
Next use a lightweight dewy foundation like Mac Face & Body (6) to even out skin tone and give a soft glow to the skin. Correct any blemishes or under eye dark circles with Mac Pro Longwear Concealor. Then tap Mac Pro Set Powder over the tzone to correct any oily patches. Apply a little Mac Pro Sculpting Powder (7) to the cheekbones to give subtle definition with an angled blusher brush.
Create a pastel purple lip by mixing Sweet Pea & Fay Heliotrope & Cordelia Lip Joules (1) together. Use a firm flat concealor type brush to pat and apply colour all over the lips. Add more Heliotrope for a softer look or more Cordelia for a stronger look depending on what kind of look you’re going for.
Don’t be afraid to wear this look with confidence. Far from being a trend slave the look is fresh and different, the perfect way to bring a bit of an edge to your spring makeup.
