First to hit the catwalk was Lebanese designer Gianni Maanaki. Maanaki’s distinguished and highly regarded career shone brightly in his fluid, satin gowns, and careful use of lace and crochet. Bold blues, and citrus hues in lime and orange showcased the designer’s middle eastern heritage with a striking bravura. Flowy harem pants paired with impeccably embellished, fitted bodices evoked sweetly scented desert nights, brushing shoulders with Arabian royalty.
The shows continue with the second evening beginning at 5:00pm, Thursday, September 20.
