VFW: Misty Greer

The fifth show was a spectacle not soon forgotten. Vancouver’s Misty Greer turned an innocent fashion week crowd into captive voyeurs with her burlesque Trunk Show line. Rebellious and cheeky, with a good helping of risqué, Greer’s collection is nothing short of cabaret glam, complete with sparkly body suits and leopard-print detailing. Voluptious models danced and writhed down the catwalk to a soundtrack of The Troggs’ Wild Thing,  Joan Jett’s I Love Rock and Roll and The Runaways’ Cherry Bomb. With more glitter and feathers than a drag queen’s tour bus, Greer’s pin-up pieces are definitely for the adventurous. A Ziggy Stardust-inspired electric blue-green lamé cat suit, and a floor-length gold-encrusted gown with sheer, nude side panels were definite standouts in this seductive side-show.

The shows continue with the second evening beginning at 5:00pm, Thursday, September 20.
