Last, but far from least, was Mexican designer RG Sanchez with his covetable collection of brightly-coloured summery frocks. Green and hot pink a-line skirts, and shorts in broad vertical white and black stripes paired with a frilly yellow and pink sleeveless blouse evoked images of Mexican señoritas on a 1960’s postcard. One could just feel the south of the border sunshine as an orange, floor-length crepe gown with a floral belt drifted past. Canary yellow peasant blouses and skirts, shimmery satin, and colourful clutch purses adorned with flowers lent a signature to Sanchez’s memorable Spring/Summer ensembles.
The shows continue with the second evening beginning at 5:00pm, Thursday, September 20.
