We get the first spin of the new track from London’s Lynda.

To say we’re in love with London duo Lynda would be a complete understatement. We stumbled upon their previous offering ‘Under The Pines’ by happy accident and it hasn’t been off our playlist since.

Algerian and Welsh duo Youcef Khelil and Russ Hartley met whilst working day jobs in retail and the rest, as they say, is history. Early collaborations soon led to the pair taking the partnership more seriously and building a home studio at their Flat in Lewisham. ‘Real Lyf’ was one of the very first tracks that came to fruition and is the beginning of a fictional storyline the boys have written about a sociopathic hermit character, who has a completely made-up fantasy relationship with the girl in the flat opposite to his.

The duo explain: “He watches her routines every day/night and almost feels connected to her (but he’s borderline stalker). They’ve never actually met ‘In Real Life’. He also believes that she may be connected to a supernatural cult that he’s been researching called ‘Blue Beams’.”

Upon listening to the track inspirations such as Tame Impala and Blood Orange are rife, with cinematic nods to Hitchcock’s ‘Rear Window’. ‘Real Lyf’ is an artful follow-up to it’s predecessor and is a whirlwind of 80’s synth-pop nostalgia. We can’t get enough!
