Review: Lulu James- Be Safe

Monday 15 October 2012
Words Spindle

Northern songstress Lulu James is slowly but surely making her way up there as another artist creating contemporary funk soul and latest offering, Be Safe, is a tune packed full of sensuality; one which begins deeply in shimmered beats, gradually climbing before effortless silky soulful vocals transpire and layer beautifully within the walls of sound locked amongst the subtle drum & bass vibes.

Produced by Hostage & Kidnap kid, sonically Be Safe swims amongst dark warped electronic textures and spritzy sparse beats, which wholly captivate when neatly collaged with the vocals, which breathe and remain strong, powerful and gorgeously seductive throughout. In less than four minutes Lulu James has created something so expressively addictive, we cannot wait to hear more from this artist.
