Review: Spindle Introducing

(Thursday 18th November, House of Wolf, Islington)

Housed amid the ornate but eclectically bizarre surroundings of House of Wolf, we were brought once more a substantial evening of music, fashion and general conviviality (as promised to us) from Spindle Magazine. The somewhat bohemian air to proceedings, I might add, was reflected in the idiosyncratic style of HoW’s décor (the lighting in this place was MADCAP – I kid thee not).

Packed tight within its narrow floor space, four prevailing music acts held court on its small stage, most notably SCAMS, The Hotelles, L.A. Salami and AMiTY.

Those arriving/leaving were received by Nic’s BLoy Dry Bar, Pow Wow Wow Nails (wasn’t adventurous enough to try it myself) and photo booth by Darren Skene (admittedly embarrassed myself here, but who cares, right?) kitted out towards the front, while ShopWhoreFloor led a turban takeover with her own unique creations SLY Leather and MODU  Designs also in attendance.

Overall, the atmosphere exuded within HoW’s four walls was eagerly greeted among those who attended – I felt a bit reluctant to walk back to the tube station to make the schlep home again.

Flawless evening provided by Spindle – they really know how to throw a jolly good party.
