Toronto native Airick Woodhead first came to our attention with his EPs full of eclectic remixes of acts such as Portishead, Peaking Lights and Grimes. Now he’s set to release his debut album Lesser Evil on February 25th followed by a European tour.
Pitchfork had this to say about the track: “It feels like a puzzle riddled with mismatched pieces, until you realize they’re not supposed to fit flatly side-by-side, but rather in 3-D. Following the contours of Woodhead’s cooed hook, “Anomaly” starts at a peak, deconstructs itself and builds vertically from there on, finding intriguing ways to explore the tension between pop formality, the orderly nature of computer programming, and the wild artistic impulses that are currently pulsing through Montreal.”
