Preview: Helen Van Rees AW13

Texture doesn’t get much better than this. Hellen Van Rees has managed to make a sugary sweet and sinister aesthetic. Dresses that look like wilderness straw made out of sherbet and a Jackson Pollock painting, headgear that looks like chaotic acid motorway rays, and a general blurring between reality and fiction. It’s a head trip collection that has me hooked.

The lookbook video shows the dark art of Hellen, where the slightest model movement transforms, deconstructs, and gives a lesson in fashion exorcism.
