Introducing a Summer in Sag Harbor. When I think of the Hampton’s, I’m tacky enough to immediately associate Mischa Barton in The OC with a bottle of value vodka slumped at the side of a beach hut. Penfield have a much more luscious look on the east coast, soaking in the laid back hangouts, playful beach ways, and camouflaged paradise hangouts to present a collection brimming with colour and all the goody bag trimmings.
The lookbook has ice white trousers, a seaside speckled shirt, a red wine stain shaped bear, a camouflage snapback, forestry trousers; basically a copy and paste impression of the landscape that inspired an aesthetic. Bark, bamboo, ocean, and anything else that the brand found a Polaroid moment for, giving me co-ordinates mapped between a safari and humble harbour. All the colours under that ole’rainbow too, because they’re spoiling us like that; boat yellow, forest green, and boy george there’s some cobalt blue (I’m not saying that ‘Boy George’ is a Dulux colour by the way).
Technically speaking, there’s a Cornell port jacket, reworked favourites such as the Gibson, lightweight knits and the Pearson striped cardigan; ideal transitional pieces to take you through to summer. New additions to the women’s realm include the Bascom shirt with a boyfriend fit.
