Preview: Pick Me Up 2013

The UK’s original contemporary graphic arts festival returns in April showcasing the latest in what’s happening in the world of graphic art, design and illustration.

Now in it’s fourth year, you will find original artworks and limited-edition prints from the industry’s elite and emerging talent; and each day the festival will be running an  eclectic mix of workshops, lively evening events and creative forums – all included in the entry ticket! Some of the artists contributing to this year’s programme include Guardian regulars Modern Toss and the award-winning animation studio Aardman, who will host a Shaun the Sheep model-making workshop.

Cutting-edge collectives and contemporary graphic art galleries such as Nelly Duff, Beach London and Bristol-based SOMA will each curate a bespoke space, including a tattoo parlour, toy shop, flower stall and pub, along the length of Somerset House’s Embankment Galleries to present and produce affordable artwork in front of the public, alongside creative workshops providing expert advice on all forms of graphic arts.

Find out more and get your tickets on the Somerset House website.
