In this digital age where all our favourite publications can be easily accessed online in bit-sized chunks, it’s sometimes difficult to remember the last time we purchased an “actual” magazine.

Enter curator Leanne Petersen who has decided to rekindle our love affair with print media with her new pop-up exhibition ‘ I Bought This For The Cover’ at The Cob Gallery and Studios in Camden, London.

This photographic exhibition gives an insight into the instant relationship we as the reader develop on seeing a magazine cover and whether it justifies a purchase.

As an avid magazine collector Leanne uses this exhibition to convey how a great cover across any genre can not only be timeless but act as a cultural and historical artefact.

‘I Bought This For The Cover’  features a series of striking as well as  provocative images of those obsessed with the printed magazine and is a unique opportunity to see a magnitude of covers old and new in one place.

With a private viewing on April 25th 2013, this pop-up exhibition will be open to the public from April 26th -28th 2013.
