Newcastle four-piece Sharks Took The Rest release their debut album Too Late For Logic this summer, and you can stream it via Spotify right HERE. The band comprises Beccy Owen (vocalist), Adam Sinclair (Drums/ BV’s), Adam Kent (keyboards / Electronica) and Ian Paterson (Double Bass / Electric Bass).

After a busy 2012 that saw them play the festival circuit and release their debut EP – which received considerable attention on national radio – their debut album showcases the band’s unique blend of whimsical folk and vibrant electronica.

The group’s recent experiences are the subject of many tracks on the album, with ‘Go For Blood’ being written after lead singer Beccy Owen broke her shoulder after being knocked off her bike by a car. “I was so out of it on morphine when the police came to take a statement that I ended up hugging one of the officers and not letting go for a little bit too long”, Beccy remembers. “I was still pretty high a few days later when Adam came over to write. This tune seemed to fall out from the haze.”

‘Restaurant’ deals with the universal theme of being broke, and has already proved to be a huge hit with listeners, having been played on BBC6 Music by Steve Lamacq and Radcliffe & Maconie as well as being named Track of the Week. XFM listeners also voted this ode to the penniless as Hot Track of the Day!
