Na Di Studio was established on June 2013. I graduated from London College of Fashion on December 2012 and my graduate collection was one of the 10 collections presented in the Royal Opera House MA catwalk show during London fashion week. I have been studying fashion design since I was 15 and I find so much reward from it, particularly menswear. I studied womenswear previously however after I came to London and joined Central Saint Martins I discovered a side to mens wear that I never knew existed and my direction really changed.
Where does the name come from?
Na Di Studio comes from my name, Na is my first name and Di is my family name. Studio just means my workshop/studio.
What do you have planned for your next collection?
The next collection will be presented during Menswear Fashion Week AW14. I am focusing on creating a joyful collection utilising fun elements from my childhood such as magical chinese child like games and artwork. That said, I have found lots of interesting traditional British gentlemen’s fabrics, such as wool tweed and I plan to bring them to life using special printing techniques.
What are your aims for the brand?
My goal is to drive the brand into a direction where I can remain creative yet commercial. I want people to be able to wear and buy the garments. This also means that I need to continue developing the designs and making sure that the public can see them. Also the high quality, well produced, strong design concepts are very important to me. Na Di Studio aims to continually grow and mature to produce fresh and creative products season upon season.
Who’s your target customer?
Na Di Studio is an independent designer brand, for all the people who love wearing stylish clothes and want to be special without any age limits. They may have different life styles, backgrounds or careers, but they are all interested in fashion, music and a quality life.
Where are your stockiest?
Currently, Na Di Studio is stocked in “Fake” Tokyo Japan and will soon be available to purchase on my online shop.
What musician would you love to see wearing your designs?
There are many, but especially Hip-hop musicians and rappers, such as A$AP Rocky and G-Dragon. What designer would you most like to collaborate with and why? Opening Ceremony, because I adore their style and the people they have collaborated with in the past.
Describe your personal style
I don’t like wearing the same style for a long time, I usually change my style quite frequently, but most of time I like to wear casual clothes like trainers, hoodies, jumpers etc.
