Spindle Loves: Winter Coats

As the rain begins to fall and Autumn sets in I thought it was about time I highlighted my favourite coats of this season.

The Cocoon coat: This season’s latest shape. Loose fit, not at all figure hugging but provides definition to the shoulders and arms. A masculine inspired look is best with these coats- think shirt, and straight cut trousers and some ankle boots.

Faux Fur coat: Need something that will really keep you warm? Go for a fur number. Dorothy Perkins really nail this on the head with the black and white and ombre coat featured below.

Parka and Duffel: Seen in the classic olive green or navy blue, the parka and duffel coat are back for A/W13. The short Pull & Bear Duffel in navy blue is is an absolute steal.

Bomber: The Bomber continues as a must-have item but is updated with tougher fabrics and styles for Winter! A casual jacket covering a number of this seasons trends from varsity sports to check. Have a peek at my favourite three below.

Leather: The leather jacket is transformed in new colourways (Pull & Bear burgundy leather jacket)  and detailing such as ribbed sleeves and shoulders for this season.

Check and Dogtooth print: Check has made a huge comeback this season and keys into the overall grunge/90s trend. Seen mostly in loose fitting forms across a black and grey palette.

Pink and Burgundy: This season’s two key colours are seen across varying styles of coats. My favourite being the asos cocoon coat with patent trim.
