Ping Pong Team up with V&A for Cocktails Inspired by Masterpieces of Chinese Painting Exhibition

I love a good cocktail. Disguising potent spirits with pineapple juice and adding a cherry to an umbrella stick if we’re feeling cheeky. There’s nothing better. Okay well there is, as I’ve just summed up a trashy teenage interpretation of an exquisite sipple.

If you want to taste decadence and literally intoxicate yourself with art, look no further this Autumn than Ping Pong. They’ve teamed up with The V&A to create cocktails inspired by paintings from the Masterpieces of Chinese Painting exhibition. The exhibition has gathered together the finest examples of Chinese paintings created over a 1200 year period, and as luck would have it, these drinks have become masterpieces in their own right. Envisage yourself in Wang Mian’s ‘Fragrant Snow at Broken Bridge’ by enjoying a plum and liquorice Sour, or feel classy and warm inside with a smoked apricot and spicy almond drink.

Check out the exhibition before treating yourself to a cocktail – or maybe go AFTER the cocktail so you look at the paintings in a completely ‘different’ way.

Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700-1900 is at the V&A from 26 October 2013 – 19 January 2014. V&A Members go Free.
