Ovoo, released through Hands Drawn Dracula and No Pain In Pop, reveals sounds that make you feel as if you’ve been transported into the Amazon rainforest. There seems to be noises of dropping water mixed with soft clashes of metal and echoing beats, which are topped off with beautiful whispers of vocals.
It’s perfect to let you escape the hectic nature of life and experience nearly five minutes of sheer relaxation through music. You find yourself falling into a state of blissfulness when listening to the record, which makes a change from the mainstream deep house and dubstep scene that dominates the charts.
A digital single is on offer consisting of two tracks created by the group, one of which is Ovoo and the other The Cools which also has a wonderfully haunting vibe to it. The Montreal and Toronto based band is made up of siblings Allie, Jaclyn and Trevor Blumas. Their records break free from most generic songs that use synthesised beats and instead use a variety of instruments to add dimension and versatility to their music.
The group will be performing in several cities across the EU during the end of this month and the beginning of next. This mini tour will see the band visiting places such as Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and London.
