DENA teases upcoming album ‘Flash’ with new track ‘Bad Timing’

Following the popularity of tracks “Thin Rope” and “Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools”, Berlin-based Bulgarian vocalist DENA, or Denitza Todorova to her family, has announced that her debut album ‘Flash’ is set for UK release on 3rd March.  To give us a sample of what to expect, she’s streaming album track “Bad Timing” on SoundCloud.

DENA’s music is like a hybrid made up of gritty elements from M.I.A. and Grimes, with her own unique spin. The uber smooth track is about “the feeling of constantly missing someone amidst the frantic rhythm of the city”. Yet, DENA maintains her street credibility by keeping a cool front.

The baseline accompanied by smeared chimes and lines such as “Bad timing this is what we’ve got / Bunch of missed calls in the middle of the night” induce involuntary head-bobbing and is bound to get you longing for DENA’s other half to get a better sense of time.

Bad Timing is available to download on iTunes
