Adverts of 2014

When it comes to TV, adverts are extremely important, with companies using catchy jiggles to draw in the consumer or catch phrases to stick in people’s minds. Although it is only February, many companies have released new adverts for the year which are sure to attract a lot of attention. Here are the top 3 adverts which has been released so far this year:

Motors.co.uk

The advert uses a young girl plagued by images of herself saying “you don’t know what you’re doing” whilst going round and round on a fair ground ride when she is suddenly drawn back to reality and waiting at a bus stop. The adverts narrator explains what is happening and goes on to talk about how using the new motor’s smart search function, finding a car is easy. This advert is one of the best this year as it relates to the problems many people face whilst they are looking for a car and the catchy tagline “carfuffle” is something everyone can relate to.

Shreddies

The new Shreddies advert still uses the theme of Nana’s but in this new advert they are all getting ready for the day by sweeping the floor, cleaning and stacking shelves of Shreddies, whilst dancing to the well-known song “This is how we do it” by Montell Jordan. This advert uses comedy as a way to sell the Sheddies and with the voice over asking: “How do the Nana’s get through their morning? Could it be those four layers of wholegrain” gives enough information on why Shreddies are a good breakfast to have.

KitKat

The new KitKat advert is definitely one that appeals to many people. By using a high speed police chase which comes to ahead in a warehouse where both parties get out and share a KitKat because “it’s been non-stop all day”. They even talk about the best route to take for the car chase and about the getaway car before they continue their pursuit. This advert is both funny and informative as it implies no matter what your situation is, you should always take a break and have a KitKat – a slogan that KitKat have used for many years.

As we are still in the early stages of 2014 the adverts that have already been released have definitely set the standard for the rest of the year and if these three are anything to go by, it is sure to be a year of catchphrases and catchy songs.
