Calling themselves a self-billed ‘co-operative garage band’, Cash+David are a London based duo. Sharing all writing, production and mixing credits across their material, the pair are just as likely to draw inspiration from the Beastie Boys and The Knife records in their collection, as Tom Waits and Shostakovich.
Their first track ‘Funn’, due for release this March is a sinuous meld of crunch guitar and disembodied vocals. If asked to describe their sound themselves, they would tell you “Singing ‘Like A Virgin’ in a desert karaoke booth, with Sleigh Bells on percussion and M83 on guitars”. An interesting description if we ever heard one, one that nods to the duos positive attitude and care-free vibe. Funn’s vibrant electro sound is indicative of the future tacks we can expect from the enigmatic duo in 2014.
