Shot in a mountainous area layered with snow, we see the upcoming artist bravely flaunt it in a prom-like dress, most definitely not dressed for the weather. But hey – she looked good, and quite frankly that’s all that matters.
The rustic scenery made up of withering shrubs, rocks and an icy lake against the snow topped mountain is, like Lauren, truly spectacular. The beauty of the music video speaks for itself and compliments the simplistic nature of the song.
The rhythmic strumming of guitar, joyous use of piano and thudding of drums makes Lovers Or Liars dreamy yet demanding – the track screams for your attention, and it deserves it. Soothing yet sassy, the track is one for your spring playlist.
Vocally, Lauren is soft and gentle but holds so much power when she sings; she is a fine mixture of the Vocalist from Foxes as well as Gabrielle Aplin, but that’s not to say that she’s merely a copy of an already existing artist.
With nearly 19,000 followers on Twitter, Lauren’s fan-base is growing daily. She’s attracted a lot of positive attention, so much so that when she released her album it managed to shoot to number 27 on the iTunes chart. For an upcoming artist, it’s an extremely credible achievement and holds a lot of excitement and promise for her future.
But despite just releasing her album for all to hear, the artist isn’t stopping there as she is currently touring across the UK. She means business, performing in cities including Glasgow, London and Bristol.
Her evident driven approach makes it difficult to see any reason for Lauren not to make a strong stance for herself in the music industry. She is one to watch for 2014 and onwards.
