Introducing: Vancouver Sleep Clinic

If you are a fan of Bon Iver and London Grammar, then you are going to love the atmospheric sounds of Vancouver Sleep Clinic.

Following a five month silence since first track ‘Vapour’, Tim Bettinson (one third of Vancouver Sleep Clinic) posted the song ‘Collapse’ to his Soundcloud – which admittedly is by no means prolific, but when you consider Tim is only 17 and still finishing up school, the story begins to take shape. Garnering well over 100K plays in a week, Collapse worked its way straight to the top of the Hype Machine and a tour of Australia supporting London Grammar shortly followed.

This January saw the Brisbane based trio – Tim, David Lucha and Aaron Moore, support Daughter on their Australian tour and they are soon to be supporting the on the upcoming Naked and Famous tour. Aside from all this touring though, they are set to release their debut EP ‘Winter’ this March. Across 6 tracks, the EP illustrates the growth and consistency of Vancouver Sleep Clinic and Tim’s identifiable falsetto vocal and isolated tones are evidence of an artist that albeit somewhat restrained in sonic delivery, has clearly captured the imaginations of many as he begins to reveal what’s to come.

Having revealed EP track ‘Flaws’, on their Soundcloud, it is evident that much like Collapse, ‘Flaws’ again carries the torchlight into the sparseness around his sound and provides warmth to the subtlety of Tim’s compositions. If you’re looking for some additional VSC listening, head for their unique cover of Drake – ‘Hold on We’re Going Home’.
