ABBA Announce Reunion Tour

That’s right, folks. You read that correctly. Over 30 years since they last went on tour, ABBA have announced that they are getting back together for a one-off tour.*

The gruelling schedule for their previous tour in 1979/1980 took its toll on the band – Agnetha and Bjorn were already in the midst of a messy divorce, and Benny and Frida would follow suit the very next year. The band would go on permanent hiatus in 1982, never to record or tour again.

However, time heals all wounds, and with the mega-success of Mamma Mia! internationally, Bjorn, Benny Agnetha and Frida have agreed to let bygones be bygones. The sticking point for a reunion tour always seemed to be the reclusive Agnetha, but since she returned to the music scene with a new album last year, she hinted that she would consider a one-off ABBA tour.

This news does of course blow shitty Kate Bush out of the water – who cares about hearing Cloudbusting live when you could hear Dancing Queen? Tickets are likely to sell out in seconds, and I for one would gladly hack off one of my limbs for a chance to see ABBA live in concert.

Tickets for the 15 date tour go on sale June 31st – details of venues and prices can be found here.
