At only twenty years old, Berlin-based producer Marlon Hoffstadt is making waves within the realm of house music. Perhaps best known for “Shake That” in collaboration with Dansson which proved to be one of the biggest hits of 2013, whilst Hoffstadt may be young, he has the ability to effortlessly blend attributes from house and popular music to create productions that brim with emotion along with his own distinct sense of character.
Having produced his debut EP ‘You And A Lovestoned Ghost’, whilst studying for his A Levels, in his so-far short career, the young Berliner has managed to collaborate with a string of artists including David Keno, HRRSN and Cleov and DJ across the world, but to date his most groundbreaking track to date is undoubtedly ‘Shake That’ with Dansson. Utilising deceptively simple elements the track features an irresistible rolling bassline, stripped-back house form and an imaginative vocal sample from Nate Dogg’s ‘Get Up’ to create a tune that is infectiously catchy, instantly recognizable, and irresistibly danceable.
Having already being dubbed as a ‘Future Star’ by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Hoffstadt is one to watch for 2014, a year which predicts a heavy touring schedule, a forthcoming new EP, a collaboration with good friend HRRSN and remixes due out on Peppermint Jam, Greco Roman, Universal, Sony (Relentless) and Warner Music. If that wasn’t enough he’s also launched a brand new premium ‘Shake That’ t-shirt range which you can check out here.
