Also known as Lourdes Hernandez, Russian Red had one of those voices that possesses the innate ability to communicate and captivate a variety of audiences. Despite being of Spanish origin, Hernandez sings all of her compositions in English and having broken through the music scene in 2008, she became an indie phenomenon in Spain with her debut album “I Love Your Glasses”.
Following this first dosage of lustrous and loveable indie-folk, Hernandez released her second LP “Fuerteventura” in 2011, which launched Russian Red onto the international music scene. Released in 25 countries with over 40,000 copies sold, this was the starting point for a string of shows across the globe that cemented Hernandez top positions in a number of local and international charts. Currently living in California, Hernandez has been busy at Sunset Studios in LA recording songs for her forthcoming album “Agent Cooper”, which is due for release at the beginning of summer.
Recorded and produced by Joe Chiccarelli who is best known for having worked with The White Stripes, The Strokes and Morrisey amongst others, this album is set to be her best yet and aside from the release, Russian Red has three forthcoming UK tour dates – the Lexington May 6th and 7th, along with The Great Escape in Brighton May 8th.
