Burt’s Bees has been providing earth-friendly natural health and beauty care products for 30 years and from its humble beginnings starting out in a beekeepers back garden in the US it’s predominantly remained an American brand. There has been a presence in the UK online and via concessions in the likes of Debenhams, John Lewis and Boots but there has never been a UK stand-alone store, until now…

Last week I took myself down to the opening of the Burt’s Bees Pop Up Hive on Monmouth Street, Seven Dials to see what all the buzz (get it!?) was about! I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

It was fantastic to see the full range displayed together exactly how it should be with the whole hive reflecting the ethos of the brand. When you walk in your hit straight in the nose by the incredible smells of natural goodness and then as your eyes wonder around the store you’re greeted with happy golden yellow walls, blown up pictures of the gorgeous Burt himself and honeycomb inspired displays.

Burt and his bees have you taken care of from top to toe and there are hive experts on hand to offer advice in both human form and in the form of the digital lip-shade finder. I’m an absolute Burt convert as not only does the man himself have one of the most glorious beards I’ve ever seen but the products truly are fantastic and all promise to have not been tested on animals and be free from phthalates, parabens and petrolatum.

I’ve been using the Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream which is just great and leaves your face feeling super fresh and all tingly. The Cocoa and Cupuacu Butters Body Lotion is another one of my faves as it provides 24 hour moisturisation and smells gorge. But out of all that Burt’s Bees offers my number one’s are the classic lip balms of which at the moment I’m flitting between three; the classic Vitamin E and Peppermint, the hydrating Coconut and Pear, and the revitalising Blueberry and Dark Chocolate – delish!

Burt’s Bees products really are brill, the brand philosophy is eco, innovative and inspiring and Burt is a babe with a beautiful beard. I recommend you get yourselves down to Seven Dials ASAP to experience the brand for yourself, but hurry as the pop up is only around for 8 weeks!
