Twenty-seven year old Ekaterina Malysheva has solved all of our festival clothing problems with one simple slinky all-in-one bright-popping power-patterned solution – the ‘Katsuit’. Taking inspiration from the infamous fancy-dress, party extravaganza, Burning Man festival, Ekaterina birthed her eponymous line – Ekat suits. Offering a range of brightly patterned lycra catsuits, Ekat’s come in Elephant print, Flamingo print, Tiger print, halter neck, sleeved, backless and more. Plus, there’s also the option of leggings, binkini’s, swimsuits and leotards – with even more designs and editions in the pipeline. So next time you’re looking for a show-stopping ensemble comfortable enough to dance until the wee hours of the morning in, look no further than Ekat suits. We caught up with Ekaterina herself to find out more:
What is your background in design?
London College of Fashion and general life.
Where did he idea to start Ekat Suits come from?
Burning Man Festival.
Are they something you would wear a lot?
I’m normally a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl for everyday, but I would wear an Ekat suit to parties, yoga classes and to chill out at home, watching TV.
If you could dress anyone (alive or dead) in Ekat who would it be?
What does the rest of 2014 have in the pipeline for the Ekat brand?
Fake fur coats and more! And a simple, darker colour range of prints for the Katsuits.
Ekat suits are available to buy at Ekatsuits.com.
