Spindle’s Top Five Summer Blushes

With summer finally here, and the lure of holidays just around the corner it’s the perfect time to try out some bright new cheek colours. We’ve picked our top 5 summer blushes so you don’t have to spend any time walking around busy shops when you should be out enjoying a large glass of rose in the sun!

Keep in mind we like things a little bolder here at Spindle, so be sure to keep your skin looking dewy and your eyes a little softer when wearing these bright shades. Don’t be afraid to try them out though  – all it takes is a little blending and they’ll melt into the skin and give you a fresh look.

1. Illamasqua Dixie Cream Blush

This gorgeous cream dewy pink blush is perfect for those with a fair complextion. Apply with your fountain brush and buff into cheekbones for the perfect summery glow.

2. Zoeva He Love Me, Maybe Powder Blush

A soft powdery pressed compact blush. We’re loving the fact that it comes with a reasonable size mirror – ideal for nights out when you don’t want to carry too much in your clutch! It’s also got the right tones to work for all skin types so you don’t have to worry that it will look too blue or too red!  Not to mention if you have large pores, acne or a lot of texture on your skin , a powder blush is ideal as it won’t accentuate the imperfections (as opposed to something with a high shine)! You can find Zoeva @ Pom Shop LTD

3. Nars Exhibit A Powder Blush

This is the most gorgeous fiery orange powder blush on the market. Ideal for all skin types but especially beautiful on olive and dark skin tones. We advice you lay a wash of translucent loose powder over your cheekbones before applying the product so as to avoid the pigment sticking to your foundation and going darker than it should. Use a big fluffy brush to buff and blend the product into the skin. DO NOT be afraid to try this – if you’ve always stuck to golden tones and the safety of a pretty peach shade this is the perfect time to mix it up! Just as the saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover goes – don’t judge a blusher by it’s pigment – application is everything and the more you practice – the less afraid you will become to venture into new colours and products!

4. Topshop Flush Cream Blush

This lightweight cream to powder blush is easy to work with and looks gorgeous on the skin. The rose shade mimics the natural flush that you would get after a jog in the park! Ideal for those who are less confident with colour and want to try something new. The uber cute packing is a bonus!mac-playland-casual-colour-Hi-Jinks

5. Mac Hi Jinks Casual Colour Cream Blush

Mac does it again!  Casual Cream Blushes have been out once before and sold like hot cakes. This gorgeous coral cream blush doubles up as a lip balm and is the perfect summer hue with a glow. Coral is also one of those colours that works on all skin types!  Hurry before this one sells out as this is a limited edition product the wont be back again anytime soon!
