Introducing: John Fairhurst

The blues shakes the soul and I know I don’t stand alone when I often wish I had lived in those eras graced by the mesmerising guitar riffs and powerful anthems. But hey, 2014 has got good stuff too – computers, smartphones, selfies, overrated pop-stars…hmmmm. Sometimes, if not mostly, it’s great when old school becomes present. I give you John Fairhurst – he sings the blues, and he’s not bad at thrifty guitar riffs either.

This year has been a good’un for John. He’s contributed with 6 tracks to the new Luke Perry film ‘The Beat Beneath My Feet’ which premiered last week, he’s written his 4th studio album ‘Saltwater’ (recorded on Dean Street) and has just performed with Joss Stone for the new British feature film ‘Tomorrow’ directed by Martha Pinson and produced by Martin Scorsese himself. Rock on John! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist)

He’s playing 4th October at Passing Clouds in Dalston and at The Blues Kitchen in Camden the 30th October. For other UK dates check here
