Water Canvas’ debut EP, At Least, oozes moody 90s rock that will make you want to slam the door shut and get lost.

That dishevelled mixture between loud music, louder drums and husky vocals works in a coexistent harmony for Water Canvas. Yes it may make you want to pretend to play an imaginary guitar in mid air; and no you cannot succumb to the feeling, for everyone’s benefit please refrain. What you can however do is embrace the almost nostalgic melodies and electrifying guitars by this southern foursome.

After coming together at the beginning of this year and performing across England’s south coast, the band released their debut EP At Least back in June (which you can download for free at the groups Bandcamp). With a few gigs lined up in the coming weeks, I suggest grabbing your all-black outfits and gently swaying along to Water Canvas.

17th Sept – The Festing, Portsmouth

20th Sept – Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar, Brighton

21st Sept – Joiners, Southampton
