Now Sam has announced his In the Lonely Hour Tour 2015, extending his success into the new year as he brings the critically acclaimed show across the UK. Covering Scotland, the North and the Midlands, the show will conclude with two special shows in March at London’s O2 Brixton Academy. The announcement has come after a sell-out tour this autumn that sees Sunday Times Culture’s ‘Voice of the Year 2014,’ perform his exceptional debut.
The album has gone platinum in the UK after selling over 1.9 million copies worldwide and is currently number one for the second time, 15 weeks after its debut. This follows his incredible performance at last week’s VMA’s, and also the news of Smith making US history by selling more copies in its first week than any other debut album by a UK male artist in 23 years. The album has not dropped out of the Top 10 since its release, and if that’s not enough his number one debut single Stay With Me is still making waves around the world, selling 4.5 million copies worldwide and surpassing one million copies in its first week in the US. And he’s done all this by the age of 22. Our lives suddenly seem a little bit less impressive.
Tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday, so be sure to set your alarms if you want to snap them up! We have a feeling they’ll be going, going, gone.
