Huw Stephens hosted the Oxjam launch party in Shoreditch last week, he commented that he’s “always been a huge fan of Oxjam because it gives people who love their local music scene a chance to bring together budding talent, put on a show and raise money for an important charity.” And that’s what Oxjam is all about. Celebrating local talent, raising money for a great cause and also to help combat the last few symptoms of festival depression.
Oxjam Dalston Takeover happens on next weekend on the 11th and 12th October! One wristband get’s you access to a lineup of over 60 bands across six gig venues. It’s guaranteed to be a weekend of music that’ll excite your eardrums and hopefully open your hearts and wallets to support such a great cause.
There are some truly amazing local artists gracing Oxjam with their presence this year! Including the London/Manchester trio, We Have Band, filling the spot of punky, poppy, 80s esque geniuses. As well as alternative babes Flies + Flies, futuristic soul from My Panda Shall Fly, electro pop beauties Seeds and Bones, the phenomenal Strong Asian Mothers, six piece alternative pop band The Night VI, what they describe as ‘wonky pop’ from Landshapes, fab folk from Fraser Anderson and Ben Slade, and so much more! Oh, and Johnny Borrell is playing on the Sunday.
Get your tickets from Resident Advisor, or at We Got Tickets, that will ensure you aren’t disappointed when the weekend comes and you’re plans don’t involve music, or multiple venues, or raising money for an amazing charity. Otherwise tickets will be available at the door!
