On The Second Day Of Christmas…

Well you go to a Christmas market of course. What is Christmas time without wandering round a park with a rosy froze-y nose whilst you sip on mulled wine and pretend to like it? Its rubbish is what it is. We’re craving some Christmas market loving, and word on the street is that Winterville has the resources to satisfy us.

Winterville Market, a place full of magical Christmassy greatness. It’s got markets, horse drawn carriage rides through the park, there’s ice-skating and pubs and music and shows at the Spiegeltent. It’s like a picturesque snow globe scene, but in reality. I feel as though I need to reign in my Christmas enthusiasm before I burst and tinsel and baubles explode out of me entangling everyone in a close radius under some sort of Christmas net. “You must love Christmas too”.

Winterville’s Bizarre Bazaar marketplace will throw you back in time to a different world, full of Victorian inspired stalls with gifts and artwork perf for those extra stocking fillers!

Move on to The Wick’s ‘A Caribbean Christmas’, you’ll enter into a Boutique Shanty Town Market where you’ll be greeted by live performances from steel pan bands and DJs. As well as even more market stalls, a beach bar in the middle of December and ‘Rasta’ Claus in his grotto – the best version of Santa Claus I’ve ever heard of.

Don’t be a scrooge, despite being in the ‘Bar Humbug’ pub, warm yourself up with some inventive hot salted caramel and hot buttered rum ciders and other exclusive blends! With an array of local and international brewers available at Winterville, your mouth is sure not to be dry.

The winter market is being held at Victoria Park until New Years Day, and is open until late everyday, excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Entry is free and you can can book tickets for any extras your heart desires. Get the Christmas festivities ball rolling and head down to Winterville ASAP.
