Solange’s latest collaboration with Puma, after the successful ‘Girls of Blaze’ SS14 designs, is a collection titled ‘Wild Wonders’ and wild and wondrous is exactly what it is. This is part 1 of the collection, consisting of three styles based on the original Puma XT2+ trainer, which was released on November 28th.
For the collection, Solange worked with three designers, and friends, for this anticipated AW14 collection. Gerlan Marcel, Hisham Bharoocha and William Okpo have each brought their own interpretation to the classic Puma trainer based on seasonal themes. Bringing in colours that kind of make your eyes hurt (but in a really good way, like a rainbow for your feet), the styles have multiple textures and varying materials including natural fabrics and the result is daringly great.
Part 2 of the collection is out on December 13th; it is made up of another two designs under the name umbrella of ‘Behind the Bazaar’. Who knows what bizarre designs Solange and co have planned for this part of the collection. If it’s anything like ‘Wild Wonders’, we’re in for a wildly bizarre surprise. Just in time to treat your feet for crimbo.
