The Converse CONS Breakpoint collaboration provides a limited edition selection of trainers, which have been designed in conjunction with four retailers across Europe. With Patta in Amsterdam, Solebox in Berlin, Strawcow in Paris and, most importantly, Footpatrol in London. All of which will be available exclusively in-store from tomorrow, February 13th.
Using the countries of collaboration as inspiration for each shoe design means that elements of these major European cities are seen in the footwear. Each retailer added their own finishing touches to the designs. A touch a texture here, a dash of colour blocking there, even some outsole finishing touches too. The design which will be sold at Footpatrol is the blue style from the collection. Perhaps inspired by the blue skies of Britain? (Hah, we wish).
Available at each of the participating stores is the Breakpoint Zine, which sets out celebrating the art forms from each of the urban cultures that have flourished within the cities involved in the collaboration. The Converse CONS Breakpoint Zine includes 20 pages of submissions for each city. It includes inspirations in the form of art from within these urban cultures, from local artists, musicians, filmmakers and photographers. Bob Motown will represent London photography as urban inspiration in the British pages of the Zine.
This entire collaboration seems to be an inspirational and supportive way to look at some of the most influential urban cultures within Europe today. And all in a shoe form, inspiration that you can actually wear.
