Introducing: Jay Brown

So here we have a girl with a heavy and husky alt-rock voice, not necessarily unusual. But being one that brings so much soul into her music, well it just ticks every box you have going.

Introducing Jay Brown, who once formed a shouty rock band with school friends. This artist has worked hard to create and write rock music that is suited for a solo artist. Bringing in backing musicians after encouragement from Bastille (Dan) and his manager Mark means Jay has evolved her music further and is about to release her debut EP.

New track ‘Green’ is the lead single off of her debut EP titled ‘They Call Me Her’. Judging by this first insight, Jay is producing some genre bending and gender norm challenging music, and it’s so good to see. And even better to hear.

Now with backing musicians in tow, including a cellist, Jay Brown launches her EP coinciding with a show at London’s The Waiting Room on February 23rd. Which is this Monday. Which is five days time. Which means you gotta get tickets quick.
