Kult Domini SS15

Kult Domini is an emerging London footwear brand with three collections under their sole already, plus one collaboration with womenswear designer Helen Lawrence and a debut men’s footwear collection coming later this year for the Autumn/Winter 2015 season. Designer Kate Deeley experiments with texture, colour and form to create innovative, long-lasting pieces.

Talking of long-lasting, don’t you just hate when your favourite pair of shoes start to disintegrate away from your feet? It starts at the heel; the heel always comes away, then maybe the lining, or the laces. It’s all just a nightmare really. There are very few footwear brands that offer a solid shoe with a chic design. (Here enters Kult Domini).

Kult Domini’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection titled Babylonia draws upon the natural chemical elements of planet Earth in reference to the studies of Ancient Babylonia. The collection sticks to the traditional styles of Kult Domini’s Slider and D’orsay shoe, plus the introduction of an open-toe Stirrup shoe. The colours are inspired by the natural colours of the Earth too, with chalky greys, desert sand tan and sulphur yellows. And may I add, a pair of the Platform Slider Black Quartz need to magically appear on my feet ASAP.

And now they’ve got mens’ footwear too, the debut PROEM collection comes this AW15 season and the continual 70s toe shape throughout the collection is a clear Kult Domini signifier. With a neutral colour palette of black, dark green moss and pony the collection offers sophistication in an innovative form. Plus the brands signature experimental approach with textures spills over into menswear with an addition of pony fur.
