Lee Cooper SS15

At the heart of every wardrobe is denim, and at the heart of that denim is Lee Cooper, or so it should be. For over a hundred years this brand has produced quintessentially British designs from their roots in the East of London. The Canals of said East London, and those who worked and lived there, are the inspirations for this season’s collection.

This SS15 collection by Lee Cooper brings with it not only some amazing denim, but also some amazing imagery. By combining traditional photography and using collage as an further art form, artist Rosanna Webster has created an innovative way of merging together the brand and art. The collage includes images of East London, past Lee Cooper adverts and hand drawn elements and added textures. Truly bringing the 2D images to life.

The East London Canals is the setting, and the people there are the inspirations. Working on the narrow boats all-day and sitting down the local all night, this SS15 collection pays a tribute to the workman (and workwoman) whilst constantly nodding at the brand’s heritage. And what got workman or workwoman doesn’t need long lasting denim in their wardrobe?

Womenswear for SS15 is a sea of skinny-fit blue denim with contrasting coral (reefs). Where menswear can expect straight fitting, straight to the point denim, with some contrasting colours, pockets, graphics and florals thrown in for fun.
