Dr Martens are standing for something again, standing for music, standing for breaking the rules, standing for memorable events. Last Saturday saw Brighton band Gnarwolves perform on a narrow boat on Camden Lock.
Gnarwolves announced the gig a mere few hours before floating up the lock; they were greeted by a crowd of on lookers. Some fans, some wondering what all the commotion was about. The punk trio played a 5-track set before upping anchor and disappearing into the sunset (not quite as punk).
They said of their #StandForSomething gig with Dr Martens, “We’ve played in some weird countries, small, tight, little venues, cafés and shops but we’ve never played on a boat, outside, in the freezing cold to hundreds of kids in Camden. This is one of the best gigs we’ve ever done. It was great to show everyone some real punk songs and that the punk scene is alive and kicking”.
This #StandForSomething show kicked off Gnarwolves’ international tour before returning the UK in April to play a stint of gigs, and what a way to start things.
