Introducing: Buxton

Wednesday 04 March 2015
Words Ailis Mara

Leaving their hometown of Houston behind, as well as some of the established sounds associated with the band, they headed for the bright lights of LA, and with that new location comes a new sound for Buxton’s third album.

Buxton are a five piece from Texas whose decade long career has taken a turn with album three, perhaps going as far to say for the better too. This album, which was released yesterday, somehow manages to be sugary sweet and icy cool under an umbrella of the band’s new found indie-rock esque sounds.

Lead track ‘Half A Native’, from the album of the same name, and single ‘Icebreaker’ still hold true to their roots with southern drawls galore, but now with more umph. They’re about to go on a small tour including shows at South by South West festival. And their name also reminds you to stay hydrated. 2 liters a day kids.
